Welcome to Carlsbad

Tranquility and a solid foundation for future growth.

A temperate climate year-round, short and scenic drive to San Diego, and sparkling shorelines have made Carlsbad one of Southern California’s most popular places to call home. Outdoor recreation, ample shopping, and a packed social calendar have brightened this town’s personality and helped its already booming economy. Several well-known golf companies are located in Carlsbad, bringing well-paying jobs to locals and boosting household incomes.

Once inhabited by Native Americans and further established by Spanish missionaries, Carlsbad is rich in history and culture. Restaurants in town pay tribute to their heritage with modern updates to Spanish and Mexican staples, topped with fresh salsas and guacamole made from hand-picked California-grown avocados. As the city has advanced and more modern companies have decided to call Carlsbad home, some things haven’t changed – Carlsbad beaches still face the never-ending Pacific blue, ensuring residents will enjoy unmatched scenery for years to come.

Local Lifestyle

Cradled between the endless Pacific Ocean and Southern California’s towering mountain ranges and forests, Carlsbad is an award-winning city, having received several accolades for economic development, innovation, and overall excellence. Urban development has not gone too far, however - Carlsbad still features vast green spaces, oceanfront views, parks, and family-owned dining options. While locals enjoy this quiet, small-town environment, San Diego is only 30 minutes away and Los Angeles is a 90-minute drive north.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Carlsbad’s coastal proximity has allowed for some of SoCal’s best cuisine and happy hour hotspots to be just minutes away, minus any showy attitudes. Just beyond popular Carlsbad Village, some of Southern California’s most fresh, seasonal ingredients are enjoyed at the highest quality.

Located on the western side of town, Campfire is arguably one of Carlsbad’s best spots for higher-end American cuisine.First opened in 2016, Campfire has developed a reputation for its hearth-inspired cuisine, reminding many patrons of younger years spent around the fireside. More coastal cuisine can be found at Bluewater Grill, famous for its locally-harvested seasonal seafood. Some of their most popular dishes include clam chowder, lobster rolls, fish tacos, and countless others. The newest gem to the village is the recently awarded Michen Star restaurant Jeune et Jolie. This reimagined French Cuisine is not to be missed if fine dining is what you desire.

On two special days each year, over 750 unique vendors gather to offer patrons a bit of everything at Carlsbad Village Street Faire. A pancake breakfast is followed by antique shopping, clothing, jewelry, and more, all uniquely handcrafted and available at this semi-annual event held every May and November.

The beachfront location of Carlsbad has welcomed several swimsuit boutiques over the years, and Beachly has been a popular shopping destination for quite some time. Located in the heart of Carlsbad Village and first started as a subscription box business, Beachly carries several brands from California, Hawaii, and Bali, offering the best accessories, beauty products, and home decor.
